School of Medicine IT launches final support hubs
The final School of Medicine IT Support Hubs opened for business on Monday, September 17, serving clients in the south of Manning Drive including MBRB, Bioinformatics, Marsico, Genetic Medicine, Lineberger and off campus locations. This is the final phase of the new IT hub rollout where desktop support and other infrastructure services will be offered through hubs staffed by IT professionals strategically located throughout the School of Medicine campus. The Central Hub (serving buildings north of Manning Drive) launched in July 2018 and Physician's Office Building Hub launched in April 2018.

ISD disk system upgrade night of Jan. 3 to cause outages to WebCIS, WebXChange paging, other systems
ISD is performing a disk system upgrade that is scheduled for 10:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 3, through approximately 2:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 4. During this time period, many applications, including WebCIS, WebXChange, WebXChange paging, and Kronos will be unavailable. Other ISD application owners will notify direct users prior to the upgrade.

ISD transitioning to IronPort for email security encryption
On Thursday, Feb. 27, at 4 a.m., ISD replaced the Tumbleweed Encryption Service with Cisco’s IronPort Email Security Encryption Services for users at UNC Hospitals and UNC Faculty Physciians. This change will minimally impact everyone who sends encrypted emails to external recipients.
