Cohen Steps Down as Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases
After 30 years as Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases, Myron “Mike” Cohen, MD, the Yeargan-Bate Eminent Professor of Medicine, Microbiology and Immunology, and Epidemiology, will step down from his post. He will continue in his many other roles as professor, researcher and physician, directing the Institute for Global Health and Infectious Diseases (IGHID), and also serving as Associate Vice Chancellor for Global Health.

Five-year Review of Jan Busby-Whitehead, MD, Director of the Center for Aging & Health
An ad hoc committee has been appointed to undertake a routine review of the leadership provided by Jan Busby-Whitehead, MD, Director of the Center for Aging & Health, and a review of the Center for Aging & Health. The review is a standard procedure of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The committee invites your written or verbal comments, suggestions and relevant information. The review will take place on Tuesday, February 14, 2017.

William Snider, Founding Director of the UNC Neuroscience Center, Retires
William Snider, MD, who started the UNC Neuroscience Center in 1999 and led it for 17 years, will retire from the UNC School of Medicine February 1.
