Health Maintenance updates coming Thursday, November 15
On Thursday, November 15, 2018 the Epic@UNC Healthy Planet (Population Health) team will release new Health Maintenance functionality for Zoster vaccines and adult Tdap booster vaccines.

Nursing students unable to use Rover
Based on the necessary security setup for Rover, the mobile app that inpatient nursing staff and respiratory therapists will use to perform review and documentation workflows in Epic@UNC, nursing students will not be able to login to Rover during their clinical rotations at UNC Medical Center (including Hillsborough Hospital) and Chatham Hospital. Any nursing student who is also a patient care tech/nursing assistant will be able to use Rover when they are working as a nursing assistant.

Scheduling, Registration staff: Updated Workflow for Collecting Patient Email Addresses
A new feature is now available in Epic@UNC when registering a patient or verifying demographics that allows a user to select a reason from a drop down-menu when an email address has not been provided.

To help make the process of complying with new NC STOP Act restrictions easier for you and a better experience for our patients, effective Jan. 1, 2018, providers will have the OPTION to e-prescribe controlled substances (including opioids). You can keep printing controlled substances scripts, but we recommend e-prescribing to save you time and paperwork.
