New image viewer in Epic@UNC for UNC Medical Center images
At 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017, the Epic@UNC image hyperlinks at UNC Medical Center will transition from Impax to UNC Health Care's new viewer, called NIL. The NIL viewer offers the same Epic@UNC-based image accessibility and tool sets as Impax.

Healthwise update Tuesday, March 21
On the morning of Tuesday, March 21, there will be an upgrade to our Healthwise patient instructions found through the Clinical References (or References) link in the Epic@UNC chart. This upgrade includes new patient instructions, vaccine information statements, patient instructions with medical revisions, patient instructions with title changes and replacements, and patient instruction enhancements.

Ambulatory providers: Chart Review Optimization Bundle #2 coming Feb. 1
On Wednesday, Feb. 1, Epic@UNC users will see several Chart Review updates in Epic@UNC. These updates are part of the second ‘Chart Review Optimization Bundle’ developed by an Epic@UNC Chart Review Task Force.

Scheduling/Referral Staff: Pop-up Tickler to Link Referrals to Appointments
Epic@UNC now generates a pop-up tickler to remind users to link a referral to an appointment. When scheduling an appointment a department with the same specialty as an existing referral, the scheduler will see the tickler reminder to link the appointment. This change was made to support clinics in ensuring that the referrals are converted properly as well as reduce the potential for duplicate referrals for our patients.
