Ndoh named UNC School of Medicine’s Assistant Dean for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer
Uduak Ndoh has been named the School of Medicine’s assistant dean for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer. He comes to UNC from Duke, where he worked as the director of Information Technology at the Duke Clinical Research Institute. Ndoh will officially begin the new role on May 1.

Network Access Control is coming to MacNider and Brinkhous-Bullitt buildings on Monday, February 6th!
OIS, together with ITS, will be activating Network Access Control (NAC) in these buildings. If prompted, please follow the steps to download and install the NAC agent onto your computer to get access to the network. Only devices that are “wired” to connect to the network will be affected. Wireless devices will not be affected. If you have questions or concerns please go to http://help.med.unc.edu or 962-HELP to chat to a technician. Java exploits are the number one cause of virus and malware on desktop computers. Next week, the School of Medicine will begin pushing out alerts to machines that have old versions of Java installed.

Network Maintenance for Wings B and C; Glaxo; and other buildings
ITS Networking will be rebooting network electronics (switches) in Wings B and C; Glaxo; AHEC; Brinkhous-Bullitt; MBRB; and Trailer 46 on May 6 at 6 a.m., which will cause a brief outage of less than 5 minutes.
