Children’s operating rooms get a facelift at UNC Hospitals
UNC Hospitals performs 5,000 general pediatric surgeries every year. Recently, the hospital has redesigned its pediatric operating rooms to help make children less anxious before the operations. The new rooms were dedicated on May 6.

Six-year-old Christian of Fayetteville, N.C., has become a N.C. Children's Hospital superstar, enduring seven surgeries in one year to correct a misaligned spine and facing more to come. His latest hospital stay was 147 days long, but mom, Ashley, says he takes it all in stride. "He's a celebrity up here," she says. "We can't even walk through the hospital without someone recognizing him."

Clara’s Journey
When Clara Murphy was born nearly 100 days prematurely in the Newborn Critical Care Center at UNC Children’s, her parents, Courtney and Jason, quickly learned that their journey as a family would be filled with highs and lows. Collaboration offers genetic testing for NC newborns
