Ambulatory Providers: Changes to annual Falls Risk Assessment
Beginning Feb. 2, the Ambulatory annual Falls Risk Assessment will be updated within the Visit Navigator for Ambulatory Clinics. (Note: This change only applies to the Falls Risk Assessment in Epic@UNC Ambulatory - not Inpatient.)

On Wednesday, Feb. 1, Epic@UNC users will see several Chart Review updates in Epic@UNC. These updates are part of the second ‘Chart Review Optimization Bundle’ developed by an Epic@UNC Chart Review Task Force.

Ambulatory providers: Exit & restart Epic@UNC if receiving “Unable to place/release orders” error
This morning, a number of ambulatory providers reported receiving an error in Epic@UNC stating that “Outpatient orders cannot be released/placed for inpatients.” ISD has fixed the issue in Epic@UNC causing this error. However, to ensure ambulatory providers don’t see the error message moving forward, we recommend exiting and restarting your Epic@UNC session.

The “Remind me to” option in In Basket, which is available in the 'Follow-up' section of the visit navigator, began sending reminder messages as of Oct. 24. Messages providers choose to be reminded about will be sent on a daily basis based on the “Days after encounter closes” entered in the 'Remind me to" field.

Beginning Nov. 15 new Epic Medication Refill Protocols will be active to help improve the efficiency of processing refill requests for many common medications. These protocols automatically check the medical record and display some essential criteria for approval, following guidelines established by our EPIC@UNC Ambulatory Provider Governance Group.
