Patients often have a name they wish to be called other than their legal name. It is important to confirm patients are addressed by their preferred name to ensure an excellent patient experience. Ask every patient if they have a preferred name they would like their health care team to use. Please see this QREF for more information and how to enter a preferred name in Epic@UNC.

Automatic My UNC Chart Instant Activation
Beginning August 29, 2019, Epic@UNC will have the capability to automatically send out My UNC Chart instant activation messages. This is another easier avenue for patients to activate a My UNC Chart account.

Beaker Laboratory Specimen Labels available for order in Lawson
The new specimen labels to be used with the Epic@UNC Beaker Laboratory Information System are available to order via Lawson.

In addition to LMS resources, a series of WebEx sessions are scheduled April 11 – 14 to provide more background and details on specimen collection and new Beaker workflows.
