Rubin to serve as chair within the Center for Scientific Review
Janet E. Rubin, MD, will serve as chair of the Skeletal Biology Structure and Regeneration Study Section in the Center for Scientific Review (CSR) beginning July 1 and ending June 30.

Dr. Rubin is a professor in the Division of Endocrinology/Metabolism within the Department of Medicine, a professor in pharmacology and pediatrics and an adjunct professor in bioengineering.
The CSR is the portal for NIH grant applications and their review for scientific merit. The CSR organizes the peer review groups or study sections that evaluate the majority (70 percent) of the research grant applications sent to NIH.
Members on study sections, such as Dr. Rubin, are selected on the basis of their demonstrated competence and achievement in their scientific discipline as evidenced by the quality of research accomplishments, publications in scientific journals, and other significant scientific activities, achievements and honors.
