Did you know that UNC Hospitals’ Police operate a “Lost & Found” service from the N.C. Neurosciences Hospital lobby?

UNC Hospitals’ Lost & Found is staffed from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday in the Neurosciences Hospital lobby (just next to the Carolina Care @ Home store).

You can also contact Lost & Found at 966-1241 or lostfound@unch.unc.edu.

If you find personal items/property that has been lost at UNC Hospitals, please bring it to the Lost & Found office between 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. If you find items after hours, please hold the item(s) in a secure location and bring them to Lost & Found at the next opportunity. Please call Hospitals’ Police dispatch at 966-3686 if you find valuable items (laptops, phones, wallets, etc.) after hours and they will retrieve the items from your unit.

When dropping off items at Lost & Found, please provide the date/time/location that you found the item(s) and any potential owner information (name, medical record number, etc.) as this will greatly improve our chances of finding the owner!

UNC Hospitals reimburses thousands of dollars each year due to lost patient valuables and property. Many of these losses can be prevented. Hospitals’ Police appreciates your help in quickly turning in items left behind in your work areas!
