As UNC Health Care grows and works toward enhanced integration across its affiliates, several areas have been identified where system-level policies were needed or advisable. As a result, a new UNC Health Care System “System Policy Manual”* has been developed, which is now available for viewing on the Intranet.

- Policies in the System Policy Manual are applicable to some or all of the UNC Health Care affiliates, and the applicability of each policy in the System Policy Manual is stated at the top of the first page of the policy.
- Policies in the System Policy Manual have been approved at an executive level with input from the affected affiliates.
- Policies in the System Policy Manual are not intended to replace an affiliate’s other policy manuals but may replace a single conflicting or outdated policy at the affiliate.
Please monitor the UNC Health Care Policy Manual page, as additional policies will be added to the manual in the coming months.
*HIPAA Policies and Procedures that are applicable to many of the UNCHCS affiliates are already available online, either locally at the affiliate or via the UNC Hospitals Intranet, and will soon be relocated to the System Policy Manual.
