Local quilters donate quilts to Beacon Program to give to patients who’ve experienced child abuse or domestic violence.

The Durham Orange Quilters Guild has generously donated several dozen handmade quilts to the UNC Health Beacon Program to give to patients. The Beacon Program works with both pediatric and adult patients who have experienced abuse, including child abuse and domestic violence. These quilts are being given to patients that need a little extra “TLC.”
All quilts are handmade and have been created by local quilters, including some retired healthcare professionals. For more information about the Beacon Program, please go to www.med.unc.edu/beacon.
