The School of Medicine seeks an enthusiastic clinician educator with a special interest in research to become the Course Director for the Science of Medicine course.
Science of Medicine is a required longitudinal course for all graduating senior medical students at UNC. The course focuses on the science behind medical advances, exploring the steps of basic research, translational research, and clinical research. The course also reviews the ethics of science, funding, and publication.
Strong candidates for this position will be innovative and creative with a background in research and education. The course will undergo significant changes under this person’s leadership. The position is funded at 10% FTE to the School of Medicine education cap and requires participation in the Individualization Phase monthly meetings (second Tuesday of the month, 3:30-4:30 p.m.).
