Coastal Connect HIE data now available through Care Everywhere
Epic@UNC is now connected to Coastal Connect HIE (CCHIE) through the eHealthExchange, which means that UNC Health Care providers can access patient clinical documentation from CCHIE's eastern North Carolina providers through Epic@UNC's Care Everywhere platform.

Longitudinal Plan of Care accessible for all providers/staff
All Epic@UNC users can now access the outpatient Longitudinal Plan of Care (LPOC) for each patient. The LPOC is automatically-generated based on data already in the patient's chart and includes a summary of the patient's care, goals, and past/future encounters, the patient’s care team, etc.

Though we have an information exchange already in place with the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the VA cannot share health information unless a veteran-signed authorization form (VA Form 10-0484) is on file with the VA. In early May 2019, new green-colored banners in Epic@UNC will identify patients aligned to an exclusive or narrow network Value plan, including the Cigna Connect ACA and BCBS Blue Value ACA plans. These two patient populations have limited or no out-of-network coverage, and their care should remain with a UNC Health Alliance provider or facility.
