UNC genetics professor named to NIH stem cell research review panel
The National Institutes of Health has named UNC Sarah Graham Kenan genetics professor and chair Terry R. Magnuson, Ph.D., to a panel that will review the acceptability for federal research funds of human embryonic stem cell lines.

Ambulatory Clinics achieve record-breaking patient satisfaction scores, Top Five clinics named
UNC’s Outpatient clinics averaged a score of 90.9 for patient satisfaction from July 2009 – June 2010, which puts them in the 79th percentile nationwide. The latest set of “Top Five” clinics include: PreCare, Reproductive Endocrine, Geriatrics, Psychiatry, and Pediatric Gastroenterology. The Wound Clinic was most improved.

Antoniak receives postdoctoral fellowship from the Myocarditis Foundation
Dr. Silvio Antoniak has received a Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Myocarditis Foundation. Dr. Antoniak is a member of the Mackman Lab in the Division of Hematology/Oncology and UNC McAllister Heart Institute.

UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine Faculty Member Receives International Recognition
Susan Coppola, Clinical Associate Professor in Division of Occupational Science in the School of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, has been elected by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) membership to serve a four year term as the USA Delegate to the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT).

Enarson appointed Vice Dean for Finance and Administration
Cam Enarson, MD, MBA, has been appointed as Vice Dean for Finance and Administration in the UNC School of Medicine. In this role, he will lead the School of Medicine’s Offices of Finance & Business Operations, Human Resources, Facilities and Resource Planning and Information Systems. He also holds an appointment as Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology.
