CTSA Grand Rounds seminar: The Contribution of Adipose Tissue and Systematic Inflammation to Cardiovascular Diseases in Obesity

Please join NC TraCS on March 25 at 12 p.m. for a CTSA Grand Rounds seminar, The contribution of adipose tissue and systematic inflammation to cardiovascular diseases in obesity, with Mona Mashayekhi, MD, PhD. She will discuss her work to characterize the anti-inflammatory potential of newer anti-diabetic agents.

Mashayekhi received her BA in Biology from University of Chicago. She did her PhD and MD at Washington University in Saint Louis, Missouri. She is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the labs of John Koethe and Spyros Kalams. She is also a Clinical Instructor of medicine at VUMC in the Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology, & Metabolism.
