The most recent update to Epic@UNC changed the display format of the author’s name in the ‘Notes’ tab in Chart Review to ‘First, Last.’ This display setting has been reverted back to a ‘Last, First’ display so that you can more easily find Notes. ​

When creating Hospital Accounts (HARs), scheduling/registration end-users will sometimes encounter a message saying “Assign Hospital Account.” This indicates that a HAR for another visit already exists and the visit being scheduled should be assigned (linked) to this existing HAR, instead of having a new HAR created. From April 9 - 11, more than 80 meetings were held at NetApp in Morrisville as part of our Epic@UNC Validation Session #2. Thanks to the more than 1,250 people across UNC Health Care who attended these meetings to help provide feedback on our planned Epic@UNC system.

Flu Best Practice Advisory to remain active through April 30
Due to the large number of influenza cases we continue to see across UNC Health Care, the flu Best Practice Advisory (BPA) in Epic@UNC will remain active for both inpatient and outpatient users through April 30, 2017. Please continue to screen patients for influenza and document appropriately.

The "Recipient Lookup" screen was updated Sept. 13 in Epic@UNC so the "Near" field defaulted to "Home." As of Sept. 21, this default of "Home" has been removed and will no longer default in the "Near" field.

Cath/EP Case orders and Nursing Protocol Order sets
On Wednesday, Nov. 15, the Case Cath/EP case requests as well as new order sets will be available. Cath/EP case request will now have a hard stop to address Implementation of Nursing Protocols.

Planned Dragon Medical One, PowerMic mobile app downtimes Saturday morning, Aug. 3
There is a planned downtime scheduled from 1 – 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning, Aug. 3, for the Dragon Medical One dictation system and the PowerMic mobile app due to required technical maintenance. Epic@UNC and all other applications will be available normally during this time.
