The Referrals & Access Leadership Team is very excited to announce a number of improvements to the overall referral order process scheduled to go-live on June 14, 2015. Outpatient Care Services (OCS) Operational Training & Development and ISD Training have partnered to offer instructor-led training classes and WebEx sessions beginning on Wednesday, June 3. All Referral Coordinators and Clinic Managers are required to attend the Advanced Referral Management Instructor-led class.

Outpatient Care Services (OCS) Operational Training & Development and ISD Training have partnered to offer instructor-led training classes and WebEx sessions beginning on Wednesday, June 3. All Referral Coordinators and Clinic Managers are required to attend the Advanced Referral Management Instructor-led class.


Attention All Clinic Managers – Required Training For Referral Coordinators and Clinic Managers
All Referral Coordinators and Clinic Managers are required to attend the Advanced Referral Management Instructor-led class. Since Referral Coordinator is not an official position, senior leadership has required clinic managers to designate at least one acting Referral Coordinator per clinic and ensure they register and attend training.

Training Deadline Dates

  • Referral Coordinators are required to complete training by Friday, June 12.
  • Clinic Managers are required to complete training by Friday, July 31.

Referral Coordinator Responsibilities Include:

  • Attend the OCS Advanced Referral Management instructor-led class (see registration details below) and successfully complete the assessment
  • Serve as a local Subject Matter Expert (SME) for referrals, operational and system workflows, best practices, and established standards
  • Provide continuous on-site support to all staff, clinical and business, who serve a role in the referral process, fielding questions, and escalating issues and/or concerns in a timely manner
  • Disseminate referral-related information to staff, including updates, changes, and downtime procedures when applicable and ensure the information has been accepted and understood
  • Work collaboratively with training professionals and clinic leadership for guidance and support

OCS Advanced Referral Management (Instructor-Led Training) conducted at Learning Street

  • The first two weeks of classes will be held at Learning Street. Directions are available in LMS by clicking the “Training Locations” button displayed on the home page.
  • Additional classes will be offered on a regular basis after June 14. More information to come prior to go-live.
