To ensure compatibility with Epic’s 2017 software, which will be installed July 22 as part of Go-Live #6, ISD will be upgrading the Dragon dictation software on workstations across UNC Health Care in June. The new version of Dragon was tested by both ISD and several providers.
Please note:
- There are no changes to the Dragon interface, and providers can continue to seamlessly access their profiles from multiple workstations, switching between upgraded and non-upgraded workstations.
- Dragon upgrades in high patient traffic areas will be performed manually by ISD.
- The updated Dragon software can be pushed automatically (in the background) to the remaining workstations. Automated installs require that the PC be left on and connected to the network.
- In addition, ISD resources will be on hand at the Physician Engagement Centers (PECs) in July to confirm the software was upgraded on Physician laptops. Providers attending the PECs in the weeks prior to Go-Live #6 upgrade should bring their laptops to those sessions. Stay tuned for more details about Provider Engagement Centers in the coming weeks.
