In a multigenerational, multicultural workforce, where our co-workers and the patients we care for represent varied backgrounds, it is imperative that we carve out time to participate in available Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) trainings. It is also important that leaders allow time for team members to participate in training opportunities.
These trainings are designed to help us better connect with patients and one another. The work toward becoming a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace continues. This week, President of UNC Hospitals Janet Hadar and President of UNC REX Healthcare Ernie Bovio are featured in the DEI video series that the System Executive DEI Council launched at the end of last year. Janet and Ernie, along with the rest of the System Executive DEI Council are passionate about enhancing education and awareness at UNC Health and the UNC School of Medicine.
