Anne Drapkin Lyerly, MD, professor of Social Medicine and research professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UNC School of Medicine, talks HIV research in pregnant and lactating women in Px Pulse podcast.

The latest Px Pulse podcast episode, Pregnant and Lactating People in HIV Research: What you need to know, was released earlier this month. The podcast featured Anne Drapkin Lyerly, MD, professor of Social Medicine and research professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UNC School of Medicine. She is also the first associate director of UNC’s Center for Bioethics. She also served as PI on the NIH-funded PHASES Project to advance equitable inclusion of pregnant women in HIV research, which produced formal ethics guidance.

The Px Pulse episode explains why pregnant or lactating people (PLP) have been historically excluded from HIV research and shares expert perspective on what’s needed for the pendulum to shift to the direction of inclusion. Click here to hear more.
