Visitor Restrictions begin Nov. 19 for the Newborn Critical Care Center, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, 5 Children’s/Intermediate Care, Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and their waiting areas at UNC Hospitals

Due to an increase in the number of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) cases in the community, children 11 years of age and younger are prohibited from visiting the Newborn Critical Care Center, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, 5 Children’s/Intermediate Care, Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and their waiting areas at UNC Hospitals effective November 19 to help ensure the safety of our patients. Children 11 years of age and younger who are in good health may currently visit other areas of UNC Hospitals.

Manning Drive Closure Scheduled for Nov. 9-12

Manning Drive will be closed to through traffic the weekends of Nov. 9-12 for the removal of the pedestrian bridge connecting the Cardinal Parking Deck, Tarrson Hall and West Drive. During the weekend Nov. 9, Manning Drive will be closed between South Columbia Street and East Drive from 8 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday. Traffic will be detoured along Mason Farm Road and East Drive. Pedestrians should remain alert to traffic changes and follow designated pedestrian detours.
