Visitor Restrictions begin Nov. 19 for the Newborn Critical Care Center, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, 5 Children’s/Intermediate Care, Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and their waiting areas at UNC Hospitals
Due to an increase in the number of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) cases in the community, children 11 years of age and younger are prohibited from visiting the Newborn Critical Care Center, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, 5 Children’s/Intermediate Care, Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and their waiting areas at UNC Hospitals effective November 19 to help ensure the safety of our patients. Children 11 years of age and younger who are in good health may currently visit other areas of UNC Hospitals.

Major Impacts of Surgical Tower will begin Nov. 26
On Nov. 26, the Surgical Tower construction zone will be extended to the front of the hospital. This will close the Memorial and Children’s Hospital entrances to vehicles and pedestrian traffic.

S11 Shuttle will pick up and drop off at the Manning level of the Cancer Hospital starting Nov. 26
In order to limit vehicular traffic in front of the hospital, the S11 shuttle will drop off and pick up from the Manning Dr. level Cancer Hospital entrance beginning Nov. 26.

Zumba at Work
Did you know that the Women's Health Education Center hosts Zumba on Wednesdays and Fridays of each week from 5:15 to 6:05 p.m.? The cost of attendance is only $3 per class for employees! The class will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays at 5:15pm-6:05pm in the UNC Health Care Rehabilitation Center gym, located on the 7th floor of UNC Memorial Hospital.

Hurricane Food and Essentials Collection Drive: Oct 24 – 26
UNC Medical Center will be collecting items for those affected by Hurricane Florence and Tropical Storm Michael Oct. 24-26. Due to inclement weather, our on-site Food & Essentials Drive for the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC will now move inside to the concourse between the Neurosciences and Cancer Hospital lobbies Friday, Oct. 26.

Manning Drive Closure Scheduled for Nov. 9-12
Manning Drive will be closed to through traffic the weekends of Nov. 9-12 for the removal of the pedestrian bridge connecting the Cardinal Parking Deck, Tarrson Hall and West Drive. During the weekend Nov. 9, Manning Drive will be closed between South Columbia Street and East Drive from 8 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday. Traffic will be detoured along Mason Farm Road and East Drive. Pedestrians should remain alert to traffic changes and follow designated pedestrian detours.
