A new series produced by Medscape Video features the work of three members of the UNC Behavior and Technology Lab in the division of infectious diseases.

The series, titled “Confronting the HIV Epidemic,” includes interviews with BATLab Director Lisa Hightow-Weidman, MD, MPH; BATLAB Global Division Director Kate Muessig, PhD; and Lina Rosengren-Hovee, MD, MPH, MS, the BATLab’s iTech Site principal investigator.

The BATLab facilitates health behavior change through conducting technology-based research on all aspects of sexual health including factors that impact acquisition, transmission, & treatment of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. The Medscape series explores how infectious disease experts and human behavior scientists at UNC have teamed up to develop methods to engage minority youth in innovative strategies to decrease at-risk behavior and improve adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART).
