Student Health Action Coalition (SHAC) Serving Underserved Populations

For more than 50 years, Student Health Action Coalition (SHAC), the nation’s oldest student-run free clinic, has provided free health services to uninsured and underinsured families seeking care. In addition to clinical care, SHAC collaborates with communities to develop and implement sustainable programs to improve the health and wellness of vulnerable populations.

Join us on Tar Heal Tuesday as we hear from the CEOs of SHAC and how the Clinic has evolved from a few medical students working from a private residence to a large, free health Clinic. SHAC also partners with communities to develop and implement sustainable programs and creates an interdisciplinary service-learning environment for students in the Health Science programs at UNC.
