The UNC School of Medicine is seeking a UNC faculty member with broad academic experience, readiness for clinical leadership, experience in bringing together different constituencies, and dedication and expertise in education to lead the establishment of UNC Health Sciences at SEAHEC. This person will collaborate with university, community and SEAHEC leaders to expand the medical school campus in Wilmington and establish campuses in the other health professions there as well.

Benjamin Haithcock, MD, is a thoracic surgeon, director of the CT Residency program and associate professor in the UNC Department of Surgery. He talks about his shift from wanting to be a kindergarten teacher to his fascination with the human body and eventually becoming a cardiothoracic surgeon.
