TEAM ADVANCE invites faculty to pre-register for our 2021-22 faculty mentoring programs.

Targeting Equity in Access to Mentoring (TEAM) ADVANCE invites faculty to pre-register for our 2021-22 programming. Over 130 faculty from the School of Medicine have participated in our programs! To pre-register, please complete our brief interest form: https://cfe.unc.edu/team-advance/participate/.
TEAM ADVANCE offers the following programs:
- Faculty Mentor Training to enhance faculty mentoring skills. Adapted from CIMER’s Entering Mentoring, our training emphasizes equitable, intersectionality-informed approaches to mentoring early-career faculty across social identities and backgrounds.
- Women ADVANCE Leadership to support mid-career women faculty. Participants identify strengths and values, build peer networks, and propose leadership projects as they develop leadership skills. Each session features a pre-recorded interview and a live Q&A with a woman in leadership.
- Peer Mentoring Circles to support early-career faculty professional development. Faculty join multidisciplinary peer circles of 4-6 colleagues. Circles follow a semi-structure curriculum and are co-facilitated by two experienced faculty. Participants receive priority invitation to our professional development workshop series.
Faculty who pre-register will receive advance notification when formal registration opens.
TEAM ADVANCE is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF Award 1760187). Now entering our third year of programming, TEAM ADVANCE has reached over 200 faculty from across the University. We promote a culture of active, equitable, and effective mentoring, and our programs are open to all faculty, whether fixed-term or tenure track. Women of color, white women, and underrepresented faculty are especially encouraged to participate.
