Effective May 18, 2017, a new version of the General Consent for Treatment (GCT) for all UNC Health Care system entities and affiliates will replace all previous versions. All hard copies of the previous version should be shredded and replaced with the current version on May 18, 2017.

On May 22, Scott Doak, MBA, SPHR, will join UNC Health Care as System Vice President, Human Resources. In this role, Scott will oversee system human resources functions and the implementation of a Human Resources shared services model for UNC Health Care. His office will be located on the Morrisville Campus.

Thomas Ivester, MD, MPH, Associate Professor in Maternal Fetal Medicine, has been selected as UNC Hospitals’ Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and VP of Medical Affairs (VPMA). Dr. Ivester will begin this appointment on April 24, 2017, and report to Gary Park, President of UNC Hospitals, with a matrix reporting relationship to Dr. Tony Lindsey, UNC Health Care’s Chief Medical Officer.

Starting Thursday, Feb. 16, scaffolding will be erected at Med Wings E and F at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill as part of a project designed to add fall protection to the Wings’ roof.

To help UNC Health Care system shared services teams, like ISD and Human Resources, work more collaboratively in order to better serve our customers, UNC Health Care has leased space in two Morrisville buildings: 1025 Think Place and 5221 Paramount Parkway. Both buildings are located next to each other in the same office park. HR and ISD teams will begin moving to UNC Health Care’s Morrisville campus in January.

Effective Jan. 29, 2017, eligibility criteria for both Holiday and Shift Premium Pay for various job classes will change in order to align UNC Health Care’s pay practices with our local market. The job class for both Holiday and Shift Premium Pay must be approved by Compensation Services.
