The purpose of the BHWET Program for Professionals is to increase the supply of behavioral health professionals while also improving distribution of a quality behavioral health workforce and thereby increasing access to behavioral health services. A special focus is placed on the knowledge and understanding of children, adolescents, and transitional-aged youth at risk for behavioral health disorders.

A fracture liaison service, hospitalist-led and co-managed by endocrinology providers, was designed to improve care for patients with acute hip fracture. In a pre-post study published in Hospital Practice, the service was associated with significant improvements in the proportions of patients evaluated and offered treatment for osteoporosis.

For the second year in a row, students enrolled in the Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling Program have received a 100% pass rate on the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) certification exam. The national pass rate for the CRC exam this year was 67%. In addition, UNC students scored above the national average on every subtest.
