In addition to its growing funding and support of more than 160 new medical and dental residences developing in rural and underserved areas, the center also recently hosted its annual meeting in Washington, D.C., which included presentations from federal agencies as well as dental and medical accrediting bodies.

The Clinical Research Alliance will lead the UNC School of Medicine’s coordinating center clinical research enterprise, enabling its world class investigators with new capabilities to lead the design and implementation of multi-site clinical research, while making clinical research more streamlined for researchers, industry partners and trial participants.

The initial class of seven psychiatric residents will begin the four-year program in June 2024 and will have opportunities to care for a variety of patients, including individuals serving in the military, providing firsthand experiences treating conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder or traumatic brain injury.

Medical student Joshua Romero competed in an Ironman triathlon in Houston, Texas, on April 22 and raised more than $3,000 to support the UNC School of Medicine's Student Health Action Coalition, a free student-run clinic available to the Chapel Hill community.

This theme should be familiar to you all as one of our system values, but in the context of Dr. King’s life and mission, It Starts with Me takes on a deeper significance.

UNC Health is leading the way in glioblastoma treatment with a new clinical trial. The study will evaluate the safety and tolerability of CAR-T immunotherapy in patients with recurrent or progressive glioblastoma.
