In this interview, Hayes-Jordan discusses her groundbreaking work with desmoplastic small round cell tumors, the technique she perfected for previously inoperable pediatric patients, and how divine intervention played a role in her choice of specialty.

We are excited to announce a partnership between UNC Physicians, the UNC School of Medicine, and UNC Health Care to create a system-wide integrated Well-Being Program. This program, spanning across UNC Health Care’s owned hospitals, Physician Network, and the School of Medicine, will build on the various wellness programs already in place and synergize efforts to focus on the primary drivers of burnout.

UNC Affiliate Parking Permits are now available via email for employees visiting UNC Hospitals and the ACC for medical appointments and as visitors. These permits should requested only when an employee is at UNC Hospitals or the ACC as a patient (or when visiting a patient).

As of June 12, a Patient-Reported button will be available in the Meds & Orders navigator section to allow users to add patient-reported medications directly within the Plan Tab without having to go back to the “Home Meds” (previously “Medications”) section or without creating a new historical prescription. Medications entered as Patient-Reported will not be flagged as new treatments on the AVS.

In an effort to capture additional insurance coverage for our patients, we will begin utilizing a new tool, Coverage Discovery through Experian. This tool will use patient information to search for possible coverages a patient might have.
