Epic@UNC now generates a pop-up tickler to remind users to link a referral to an appointment. When scheduling an appointment a department with the same specialty as an existing referral, the scheduler will see the tickler reminder to link the appointment. This change was made to support clinics in ensuring that the referrals are converted properly as well as reduce the potential for duplicate referrals for our patients.

The 2018 Stuff the Bus campaign kicks off next Monday, July 16. This annual campaign collects school supplies for children in need in Orange, Wake and now Johnston County schools.

Get Started with My UNC Chart allows patients to get a head start on the check-in process by allowing them to update demographics, provide clinical information, and answer questionnaires. A second phase of Get Started will be available soon for patients with brand new functionalities. Although patients will be able to use these functions, it is still the responsibility of administrative staff to verify all information at check in.

Motivated by an increase in her blood sugar levels, blood pressure, and family medical history, UNC Healthcare employee Elaine Rogers began decreasing sugar and carbs in her diet and exercising more regularly. After losing 15 pounds, she hit a plateau. “I was bored of doing it on my own” she remembers, which is when she began looking for additional ideas to help reach her weight loss goals.

As of June 12, a Patient-Reported button will be available in the Meds & Orders navigator section to allow users to add patient-reported medications directly within the Plan Tab without having to go back to the “Home Meds” (previously “Medications”) section or without creating a new historical prescription. Medications entered as Patient-Reported will not be flagged as new treatments on the AVS.
