Hoellerich named Executive Medical Director, Specialty Services & Clinical Integration Initiatives, UNC Health Care System

Effective Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, Dr. Vince Hoellerich, former anesthesiologist and critical care specialist at Rex Healthcare, is serving as Executive Medical Director, Specialty Services & Clinical Integration Initiatives, UNC Health Care System. The position includes key responsibilities with Carolina Value and the new UNC HC Clinically Integrated Network (CIN). This new role is a UNC Health Care System position that reports to Dr. Allen Daugird, President, UNC Physicians, and Chief Value Officer, UNC Health Care System.

UNC School of Medicine Welcomes the Class of 2019

This week marks the beginning of medical school for the UNC School of Medicine’s Class of 2019. Over the next four years, their experiences both in Chapel Hill, across North Carolina and even across the world will prepare them to practice medicine in an ever-changing health care landscape. Improvements to referrals workflows in Epic@UNC effective June 14; required training for clinic managers, referral coordinators

A number of improvements to the referrals process in Epic@UNC will go into effect June 14, 2015. Most notably, the priority status of referrals has been standardized across Epic@UNC, with stat orders requiring a phone call from the “referred from” department within one day and urgent orders requiring a phone call from the “referred from” department within two days.

UNC Health Care announces new organizational structure for Heart and Vascular services

UNC Health Care has become a leader in the state and the nation for its heart and vascular care and research. Heart and vascular services at UNC Health Care are currently undergoing a period of rapid growth, including the opening of the North Carolina Heart and Vascular Hospital at Rex in 2017. Now more than ever, a structure is needed that will continue and increase our strategic alignment of services and priorities, clinical best practices, and quality care for our patients. To meet these goals and strengthen our academic mission in this area, UNC Health Care is announcing a new organizational structure for Heart and Vascular that will position us well for the future.
