Khalilah Johnson, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy in the Department of Allied Health Sciences in the UNC School of Medicine. The $250,000 grant will support her project, Disrupting the Cycle of Inaccessible Healthcare and Community Supports for Minoritized People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

Emily Pfaff, PhD, is Co-director of Informatics and Data Science at NC TraCS. She has a PhD in Health Informatics and a master's in Information Science, both from UNC. Her primary expertise and research interests are in "computable phenotyping" and clinical data modeling in support of translational research. We recently spoke with Pfaff about improving/refining health data collection and analysis, COVID research, and the role of informatics in solving today's pressing health problems.

Social and Health Systems 4 (SHS4) is a course for Application Phase medical students which meets monthly and provides a setting in which students can discuss aspects of the practice of medicine that they will encounter in their clinical experiences but that may not otherwise be a part of the formal curriculum in the clinical clerkships. The course is seeking new faculty members for Population Health and RICE seminars for the coming academic year (March 2022 to February 2023).
